Green Your Wardrobe

Green Your Wardrobe at Impact Thrift Store

The recently opened Impact Thrift Store, in Feasterville, will host a Back-to-School and Fall Thrift Fashion Show from 1 to 2 p.m., August 18, where fashion-forward trendsetters can catch a preview of fabulous ideas for fall 2012.

“The fall fashion forecast promises a striking mix of dark, bright and neutral colors,” says Heather Hamilton, assistant to the CEO. “Think dark chocolate brown with a splash of pumpkin orange, or titanium gray and honey gold. The color of the season is a warm shade of burgundy. Red plaids and tartans are classics, and bohemian prints in impactful autumn hues will be popular, as well as graphic black and white prints.”

Hamilton notes that while skinny jeans are here to stay, many designers have adjusted their silhouettes for a better fit and greater comfort. She advises layers that feature texture as a good way to transition between cool fall mornings and warm afternoons. “The classic navy pea coat makes a comeback, and riding boots will be a perfect versatile and comfortable accessory for your fall wardrobe,” Hamilton advises.

Other fundamental pieces she recommends picking up this fall are faux fur accents, sweater dresses, wedgeheeled shoes, sheath dresses and beautiful velvet and brocade fabrics. “Glossy leather handbags in burgundy or maroon are trendy yet wearable, and the statement necklace trend continues with mixed-metal embellishments,” notes Hamilton.

Location: Impact Thrift Store, 91 E. Street Rd., Feasterville. For more information, call 215-699-4146, ext. 111.
