Doylestown Food Co-Op Talks School Food

As part of its Food for Thought Book Club, the Doylestown Food Co-op will join author and filmmaker Amy Kafala for a discussion of her film Lunch Wars: How to Start a School Food Revolution and Win the Battle for Our Children’s Health, from 6:15 to 8 p.m., September 10, at the Doylestown Bookshop.

The club, which is open to anyone, meets the second Tuesday of each month, opening with a potluck dinner; bringing food is optional. The bookshop offers a 20 percent discount on the club’s book selections.

As part of its Farm Fresh Film Series, the Co-op will sponsor the screening of Two Angry Moms, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., September 26, at the County Theater, in Doylestown. The documentary follows efforts of two mothers to change school lunches for the better. The filmmaker and several organizations concerned about the cause will participate in a panel discussion after screening.
