Celebrating 25 Years of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation

Founded in 2000 after the loss of Sandy Rollman, the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation (SROCF) marks 25 years of advocacy, education and impact. What began as a response to missed warning signs and lack of early detection has grown into a nationally recognized organization, raising more than $6.4 million to fund research, support patients and increase awareness.

A cornerstone of its work is the annual Sandy Sprint 5K Run/Walk, which began in Philadelphia and now extends to Los Angeles and New Jersey. The event funds research grants focused on early detection and improved treatments, while its survivor ceremony offers a powerful reminder that long-term survival is possible.

In 2026, an estimated 20,890 women will be diagnosed and 12,730 will die from ovarian cancer, the most deadly gynecologic cancer and the fifth-leading cause of cancer death among women in the U.S. SROCF continues to encourage women to learn the symptoms and prioritize their health year-round.

Executive Director and Co-Founder Robin Cohen shares, “Every woman deserves a fighting chance.”
