This Hallowed Wilderness provides compassionate presence, witness and support for the journey of grief, loss and dying. Founder Naila Francis is a grief coach, death midwife and ordained interfaith minister. She holds space for life's threshold moments and is especially passionate about advocating for more a grief-literate society. This Hallowed Wilderness' services include one-on-one grief support sessions, including grief walks; community grief support; grief and end-of-life ritual and ceremony; educational and healing workshops; and end-of-life planning.
Naila's grief work is often informed by her love of poetry, meditation, writing and the gifts of healing rooted in nature and community. She is also a founding member of Salt Trails, a Philadelphia collective making grief public and visible through community rituals.
