Q&A with... Sara Glassman of Vine Dining

With her business, Vine Dining, Sara Glassman—a certified Natural Chef—teaches people of all ages, abilities and dietary needs how to cook delicious, healthy foods in their own kitchens in the greater-Philadelphia area. She was the face of Subaru during their Earth Week commercials on NBC, and will be teaching online cooking classes starting this spring.

In a nutshell, what is your business about? My business is about showing individuals how easy it can be to prepare nourishing cuisine—healthy food can and does taste good.

Why did you get into teaching people how to prepare food? I got into this business because I wanted to help people. Knowing how to prepare food is the number one key to health. By preparing nourishing, homemade meals, we are eliminating preservatives, creating satiety and fueling our bodies. Through teaching individuals how to do this, I am empowering them to take control of their health.

What kind of people do you enjoy helping most? People who need it most—breast cancer patients, stressed out mothers, diabetic patients or just confused cooks.

What tool should everyone have in their kitchen? A sharp knife!

What is your number one piece of advice when in the kitchen? Stay calm through breathing. Mistakes always happen; it's how you change them that makes the difference.
